Christopher Vanderkooy - “Thanks Blanket” Hardcover Book
Reasons To Live Books is thrilled to announce the release of its debut children's book, Thanks Blanket, written by Christopher Vanderkooy, and illustrated beautifully by Raquel Costa.
Thanks Blanket is a heartwarming story about growing up, life's transitions, and the enduring power of gratitude. Focusing on the universal bond with a cherished blanket, it reads like a letter to an old friend, reflecting on countless shared memories and the comfort it provides. At its core, the story celebrates the quiet, often overlooked sources of comfort in our lives, whether living or inanimate.
Preorders are scheduled to ship on Dec 2nd 2024. They will very likely arrive before the holidays but we cannot give a guarantee, especially orders bound for international destinations.
If you would like your copy signed, please select the "SIGNED" option. There is no additional charge for the signature.
Also available is a limited 7" vinyl record with an audiobook version of Thanks Blanket read by Betty Smallridge, Chris' Grandmother. The vinyl contains the narration with an original score composed by Christopher, as well as an instrumental version without the narration.
About the author:
Christopher Vanderkooy lives in East Vancouver, British Columbia. He has one cat, one wife, and two blankets. One blanket is purple and fuzzy, the other blanket is big and blue. He loves camping, disc golf, and making music with his friends. He spends a lot of time doing that while playing guitar in Canadian band Peach Pit. The idea for this book came about seven years ago on a camping trip, sleeping under the stars, with an exceptionally effective blanket (the big blue one) shielding him and his wife from the cold. This book is an ode to all the things that keep us warm when life gets a little chilly.
